To the editor:
Amicable Church wants to thank all the people in the greater Tiverton community who participated in our yearly, week-long food drive, which ended last Sunday, Feb. 5.
We are especially grateful to all businesses and organizations that served as drop-off locations. They were: Stone Bridge Branch of Bank Newport, Gray’s Ice Cream, St. Christopher’s and St. Theresa’s Churches, Tiverton Town Hall, and the Essex and Union Libraries.
Well over 1,000 pounds of food was collected. The food items will be shared with Tiverton’s two food pantries: East Bay Community Action Project’s pantry on Stafford Road and First Baptist (Old Stone) Church’s pantry on Old Stone Church Road.
Once again, thank you all for sharing so generously.
