TIVERTON — A new psychiatric practice — Stone Bridge Psychiatric Associates — has opened in Tiverton, at 1804-B, Main Road, in the office plaza directly opposite Grinnell’s Beach at the intersection with Lawton Avenue.
Dr. Robert J. Mignone, an M.D. (Duke Medical School) and Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, recently announced the relocation of his practice to the site from Sarasota, Fla., where he practiced psychiatry for 20 years and maintained a multi-specialty mental health group, known as Gulf Coast Health Services.
“My perspective is inclusive, attending to mind, body and spirit,” he said in a release announcing his new practice. He said his interests include “general psychiatry, stress medicine, and spirituality and morale in illness.”
Dr. Mignone attended Amherst College, where he graduated cum laude, and after medical school at Duke he interned at Yale New Haven Hospital in internal medicine. He served residencies at Cornell New York Hospital and the National Institutes of Health, and was chief resident in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical Schools.
Dr. Mignone is an ordained minister, a physician broadcaster, and an author of three books. He said he is ready to “come back home to the beauty of New England.”
