WORCESTER, MA — They’re going to Disney World!
A group of Sakonnet Schooner Pop Warner Football cheerleaders won the Midget Novice Small Division title at the New England Regionals and earned a berth in the nationals at Disney World in Orlando, FL, Dec. 9.
By capturing the New England Regionals championship held at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA., the Midget Division squad became the first group of cheerleaders in the history of the Schooner organization to qualify for national competition.
Members of the championship squad, which also won the state and New England qualifying crowns, are: Liz Sartini, Morgan Kulpa, Hayley Camara, Hayley Piccolo, Rebecca Desrosiers, Kayla Korzeniowski, Heidi Kiser, Sydney Costa, Aubrey Destremps, Laura Destremps, Kiley Camara and Justine Maggiacomo.
