Latessa Square, a memorial on Tickle Road in Westport, is in memory of Andre Latessa, a Westport resident killed in Vietnam. U.S. Marine Corps, POW and USA flags fly there. The square has been vandalized and the flags stolen. The flags have been replaced by donations, but the American Legion and the veterans’ agent want to improve the lighting of the square to deter youth from hanging out there and damaging the property. Revolution Lobster is raffling off a 10-pound lobster to help raise money for the lights. Tickets are $1. The drawing is at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve. Tickets are available by calling 508/916-1412. Or through Lino Rego, commander of James Morris Post 145 American Legion hall.
